  • Male SDU students, carrying a classmate on a light-hearted tour of campus, make a stop in front of Marian College, ca. 1962. G. Harris SDU Photographic Collection (UPEI Archives Acc #: 2013-250), Image 42-0697.
  • This image, taken in the Spring of 1961, shows Marian College’s handsome edifice, and offers a reminder that it once marked the far southwestern edge of campus, though it today stands surrounded by other University buildings. G. Harris SDU Photographic Collection (UPEI Archives Acc #: 2013-250), Image 43-0706.
  • With the opening of a womens’ residence, the nuns of the Sisters of St. Martha, who had long served SDU as domestic staff and, in a few instances, as faculty, took on the additional responsibility of operating this new facility. Sister Mary Ida, who began her SDU professional service as a librarian in the mid-1940s, and then became a member of the teaching faculty, was Marian College’s first Principal. G. Harris SDU Photographic Collection (UPEI Archives Acc #: 2013-250), Image 22-7957.
  • Male visitors to Marian College were not encouraged by campus authorities, but an exception was evidently made for Stevie. Mnemosyne 1963. p. 72.
